Pysyk got 1:20 of pp time...he's been playing with a lot of confidence...risto looks like he's finally locked in...took him a couple of games

His underlying numbers in the other 2 games were good as well. Led the team in ice time in those games as well i think.

I think he's still got a year of growth left in him as well. once he gets the offence part of his game going look out.

The defense as a whole I thought played well. Franson looked much better than he did the first two games. Pysyk looked solid, Risto looked like a top 2 defender, and McCabe looked pretty comfortable

Franson, imo, is painfully slow...I warmed up to him a bit in game one, but he reminds me of the type of player darcy would've signed...definitely not one of my favorite players

I like Pysyk a lot, but I have trouble calling him anything more than a top 4 defensemen at this point. He played under 15 minutes and has been relatively sheltered so far.

When he looks this solid playing 19-21 minutes going up against top lines I'll say he's a cornerstone player

Seemed far more relaxed then the first game. Having Terry Murray there must be helping.

I still like that though. Better to have one of those already in the system then overpay for one in free agency. Could be our Hjalmarsson

He is, and when certain people call him this under rated stat defensmen it makes me shake my head, however he is without a doubt a quality player when it comes to the offensive zone. He's good at getting his shot through

I hope so, but until it happens I'm hesitant to say he's a top pairing defender. He's 23 years old and hasn't really been a full time NHL'er yet

yeah, Brodie...said it before and will say it again, the team didn't need a one dimensional player...and he hasn't even impressed in the offensive zone thus far...

I'm glad to see our success on the power play in the preseason is translating to the real games. Also, Eichel is a beast.

he hasn't been a full-time nhl'er because of the morass that has been the team the last two years and he was one of the few that didn't need to clear waivers
